SESSION SYNOPSIS-

This session will provide a forum for the presentation and discussion of high-quality innovative and relevant research related to the scientific underpinnings of retinal and choroidal angiogenesis and will provide a venue for the NAVBO community to learn about basic and translational research applied to the field of vascular ophthalmology. The proposed speakers will cover important and diverse topics, including the formation and maintenance of the blood-retina barrier, the underlying pathology of ischemic retinopathies and therapeutic opportunities, the metabolic demands of blood vessels in ocular diseases, and new advances in clinical imaging of retinal and choroidal vascular disorders. Altogether, we anticipate that this session will enhance vascular biology research and applications to clinical ophthalmology.
